About Our MANLEY Branch

John is descended from a Samuel Manley, who lived in England, and died some time before his daughter’s wedding on December 24, 1863.  He was married to a Welsh girl named Ellen, who was born in Flintshire, Wales about 1816.   She was living in Oswaldtwistle, Lancashire, England, as a widow, in 1871.  You will find our Manley family tree by clicking above.

Their daughter, Mary Ann Manley married William Gardner on December 24, 1863, in St. John, Preston, Lancashire, England.  Their son, Samuel Gardner, deserted his wife and three sons, and came to Canada alone before 1908.   He served in the Canadian Army in World War I.

I have no further information regarding Samuel Manley.  If you have connections to this Manley branch, and would like to share, I would love to hear from you!  Linda@ourbegats.com
