About
our MONKMAN Branch
There
has been extensive research done by others, which has been posted on the web by
Barry Monkman, of B.C. It was there I discovered that my husband, John
Monkman, is descended from an Isaac Monkman, his gggg grandfather, who was born
in England before 1770. His son James came to Canada in 1819. You will find our Monkman family tree
by clicking above.
THIS IS MY BRICK WALL – PLEASE HELP!
John’s father was James Herbert Monkman. We know his ancestry, and we know he was
married to Elyce Mary Gardner, in Toronto, Ontario in
1942, but we can find no documentation regarding his birth or death.
If you can help,
please contact me. Linda@ourbegats.com
Thanks to our cousin, Marg James, we learned where they were married, and were able to obtain a copy of the church marriage register. This was the starting point in discovering our Monkman roots.
