Like
so many young couples, we decided to get a dog.
His name was Champ, and he was a Keeshond.
Of
course he became our baby, and helped us postpone parenthood long enough to
establish a firm foundation upon which to build our future life together.
We waited six years before
deciding to have a family. It was not an
easy decision for us, and frankly I wasn’t sure I wanted to be a mother at
first. But today I cannot imagine life
without them. We have been blessed with
two wonderful daughters, Karen and Janis They are two years apart in age, and
they are as different from one another as they could possibly be. Karen is a school teacher,
and Janis will become a Registered Nurse in 2013.
And now we have three super
grandsons – Noah, Lyam and Kieran. What I always heard turned out to be so true
- being a grandmother is even more wonderful than being a mother. They call us Nana and Papa, and they have
enriched our lives with their sweet innocence and unconditional love. They are growing so quickly, no longer
babies. I look forward to watching their
lives unfold as they in turn become adults, hopefully marry and have my great
grandchildren!
