On
John and I were married for six years before
even thinking about have a family. Our
whirlwind of a courtship leading to marriage was so brief, we needed those six
years to get to know one another. We
first lived in a one-bedroom apartment, and four years later we bought a
beautiful four-bedroom townhouse in Etobicoke.
John worked as a printer, working 12-hour shifts, either all day or all
night. I worked in an office setting,
and thoroughly enjoyed my job. Life was
good.
We enjoyed having friends over for the evening,
or visiting with them. We liked to go
out for a movie, and out for dinner often.
Much of our social life revolved around our church fellowship – and
frequently we were asked to provide a musical item at various church
settings. John was an excellent
guitarist, and he would accompany my vocal solos. Our life was simple, laid back, and extremely
happy. We became the best of friends.
